Manyamkondha Venkateshwara Swamy Temple is situated at the top of Manyamkondha hill is a temple devoted to Lord Venkateswara in Mehabubnagar district. It is also called as “Palamur Tirupathi”.
History
The name Venkateswara stems from the Indian language of Sanskrit wherever Vem translates to Sin, "Kata translates to destruction, and Ishwara translates to Supreme Lord. The name is very popular in Southern India. According to the Thirumala stala Purana, the legend of Venkateswara's Avatar is as follows once, some sages lead by Kashyapa started to carry out a sacrifice in the depository of the River Ganges. Sage Naradha visited the sages and inquired them the reason for performing the sacrifice. Unable to answer the query, the rishis went to Sage Bhriugu, who in keeping with the Vedas, is considered to have an extra eye in the sole of his foot. To find an answer after an instant ascertaining of actuality, Sage Bhriugu first went to Satyaloga, the house of Lord Bramha. At Satyaloka, he found Lord Brahma reciting the four Vedas in praise of Lord Narayana, with each of his four heads, and attended upon by Saraswati. Lord Brahma did not mark of Bhriugu providing obeisance. Witnessing that Lord Brahma was unfit for worship; Bhriugu left Satyaloga for Kailasha, the house of Lord Shiva. At Kailasha, Bhriugu found God Shiva with Goddess Parvathi, and hence did not observe his presence. Bhriugu then left for Vaikundha, the house of Lord Vishnu. At Vaikundha, Lord Vishnu was relaxing on Adhisesha with Goddess Shri Mahalaxmi in service at his foot. Even Lord Vishnu did not notice him; the sage was furious and kicked the Lord in his chest, the place where Goddess Mahalaxmi resides. ?Lord Vishnu, in an effort to appease the sage, got hold of the sage's legs and began to press his legs gently in a way that was comforting the sage. During this act, he poked the additional eye that was present in the sole of Bhrigu's foot. The additional eye is believed to represent the sage's egotism. The sage then realised his grave mistake and apologized to Vishnu. Thereupon, the sage complete that Lord Vishnu was the foremost supreme of the Trimurti and told the rishis the same.
Importance/Significance
It is considered as one of the important spiritual centers in Mahabubnagar District. In the prehistoric days sages like Kasirayalu, Narasimha, Ettepu Ramayogi, Veerappaiah, and Yanumaddhasu Yogi were considered to have meditated here and hence it is called as Munoolakonda.?As time passed it was referred to as Maniyam Konda. In this temple devotees can have a glimpse of the prehistoric caves where the sages are believed to have performed penance. The chief deity here is Shri Venkateshwara Swamy and is known as Hariharan Kshetra. This temple is built inside a cave, which is apparently balanced on the top of 3 hills. Well-known singer Shri Narayan Kondha Hanumadhas is known to have taken birth in this place. One can enjoy the scenic splendor and nature's magnificence at this temple. The Annual fair is usually held on the day of Maha Poornima.

The perfect time to visit the Manyamkonda Temple is during the Jathara, celebrated annually in the month of January or February. The temple is situated 20 kilometers away from Mehabubnagar city on the highway to Raichur. From Hyderabad, the traveling distance is approximately 120 kilometers.
