Description
Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Yoganarasimha. Built on the Yadugiri rock, the temple overlooks the town of Melukote. The beautifully carved idol of Lord Yoganarasimha has been enshrined at the temple.
Importance/Significance
Devotees throng the place to perform Tarpan for ancestors, on a new moon night in the Cauvery River. Devotees also celebrate their 60th birthday here with Ayush Homam for longevity.
Facts/Mythology
It is believed that the deity was installed in the temple by Prahlada. According to legends associated with the temple, Lord Rama, Krishna and Balarama worshipped the deity at the temple in different time zones.
