Description
It is believed that the Pandavas came here and lived in this area during their exile. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati dwelled in this area because of a boon Mother Parvati gave to an asura. The Goddess is known as Nageshwari and the Lord assumed the form of Jyotirlinga and is called Nageshwar here. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines. Devotees pour in here from all corners of the world to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
