Description
Sri Veera Raghava Perumal Temple also called Thiruvallur, is located near Chennai, Tamilnadu. The Moolavar (deity) here is Lord Veeraraghava Perumal with his Thayaar (consort) Kanakavalli . It is one of the 108 Divyadesams dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
History
There are inscriptions dating back to the 2nd half of the 9th century Pallava dynasty reign here. It is believed that the temple is around 5000 years old.
Importance/Significance
It is believed that Lord Shiva got rid of His Brahmahathi Dosha after worshipping Lord Vishnu at this temple and there is a separate shrine found for Lord Shiva at this temple. Diseases are believed to be cured if the devotees visit the temple on Amavasya (no moon days).
