Description
Vaitheeswaran Kovil Mangala Bhagavan Temple is an ancient temple situated in the Koil, Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is associated with the Navagrahas and hence holds and important position as per religious beliefs. Lord Shiva is worshipped here in the form of Sri Vaitheeshwaran which essentially means 'Lord of Healing' and hence is symbolized as a healing lord against all the negative energies. Mars is known as the planet associated with desire, energy and action. Magalgraha or Mars is always referred to as the planet which is responsible for bringing out the animalistic instinct of a person, giving them the basic nature of rashness and aggressiveness. However, special pooja's are available which are designed to curb the ill effects of Mars and help people get relief from Mars Dosham. The pooja should be done in two fold step- first worshipping Lord Ganesha and then Lord Hanuman. Lord Ganesha is believed to stay in the Muladhara Chakra which is related to the MangalGraha. In order to calm the effect of Mars, it is essential to first worship Lord Ganesha and start the process. Known as Vignashata, the lord helps to remove all the obstacles which are due to come in the path of the pooja. The second step involves worshipping Lord Hanuman. Hanuman ji is considered to the lord of Mars, symbolizing strength and perseverance. Hanuman chalisa should be recited 108 times a day, which should be followed by offering Red Goolar or Oleandar. Lord Kartikeya can also be worshipped to curb the effect of Mars. After completion, aarti is a must.
