The much famed Sri Somnath temple is the first amongst the twelve Aadi Jyotirlings of India. The temple has been mentioned in the ancient texts. According to a popular belief, Lord Krishna ended his play with reality here. Keeping the divinity and the grace of this temple aside, this temple also has a unique architectural feature. There is no land in a straight line from the Somnath seashore until Antarctica, such an inscription in Sanskrit is found on the sea-protection wall.
