Mariammam Tillai Kaliammam Devi Temple is an ancient temple which is believed to have been built during the 13th century. The presiding deity is Maa Kali and hence the name of the temple is Tillai Kaliammam Devi. The temple is considered to be very sacred in Hindu religion. The idol of Goddess Thillai Kali is represented here with four faces. The four faces represent the four Vedas of the Hindu culture. Another unique fact about this temple is that Lord Dakshina murthy is represented here in a female form. This is the specialty of the temple as such a female form of the lord is found in this temple.
