Description
Parimala Ranganayaki Devi Lakshmi Sannathi is enshrined in Parimala Ranganathar Perumal Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located in Mayiladuthurai, a town in the south Indian state of Tamilnadu. It is one of the Divyadesams, the 108 temples of Lord Vishnu.
Importance/Significance
It is believed that this is the place where the moon god Chandra was relieved from his curse. The central shrine is of the presiding deity Parimala Ranganathar made of 12 ft (3.7 m) green stone and is seen in a reclining posture facing east.
