Description
This Sri Santhanakrishnan Sannadhi is situated in the Mannargudi Rajagopalaswamy Temple. This is a Vaishnavite shrine and Krishna is worshiped here in the form of Rajagopalaswamy. In this temple, Krishna appears as a shepherd boy with a whip on hand and turban wearing a dhoti. He has butter on the right hand, an ornament around the hip, key bunch, bangles in hand and jewels of children. There are a cow and two calves by his side. Kamsa, his maternal uncle who kept his sister Devaki -Krishna's mother -sent his royal elephant Kuvalayapeetam to kill Balarama -Krishna's elder brother. Krishna, as a boy killed the elephant breaking its tusks. This temple is believed to bless mothers who face issues in conceiving. A puja at this temple is considered to be very powerful and helps parents who do not have children
