Therefore, his fury affected the entire universe, which then went absolutely haywire. It was in Tirunlai that his Soolayudham fell to the ground and he finally rested. Therefore, it is believed that if a person suffering from illness comes to the Angalaparameshwari Periyandavar Shiva Temple, all his illness related mentally or physically to him will disappear. The devotees come and take a holy bath in the lake and then offer a puja to Lord Shiva to cure them of all illnesses.
