Description
Sri Kalyana Narayana Perumal temple is located in Jamnagar district, Gujarat. The famed Shankar Mutt is also located inside the temple complex. This temple dates back to the 16th century. The five storeys of this Indian temple are built on 72 pillars. The height of the temple tower is 235 feet. The shrine of this temple is called Jagat Mandir or Nija Mandir.
History
Sri Kalyana Narayana Perumal temple was built by the grandson of Lord Krishna, over 2500 years ago. The northern entrance of this Indian temple is called Moksha Dwara and the southern entrance of this temple which is next to the Gomathi river, is called Swarga Dwara. Dwaraka, Bet Dwaraka an island with the palaces of Krishna and his queens, Nathdwara, Dakor and Kangroli are called the Pancha Dwaraka. Dwaraka Shila, white stones with Chakra markings are collected from the Gomathi river bed during low tide of the sea.
