Bambleshwari Devi temple is situated in Dongargarh which is about 40 km from the district Rajnandgaon, in Chhatiisgarh. The nearest railway station as well as airport is in Raipur. It is of significant importance since it is considered as one of the Tirthsthals. Open from 4 am to 12 pm on all weekdays and 5 am to 10 pm on holidays, the place celebrates the festival of Navratri and Ramnavmi with grandeur. Regular Hawan is also performed from 10 am to 12 pm on all Sundays. Dharmasalas are available as means of accommodation for devotees who would like to extend their trip for more than one day. All in all it is a perfect spot to worship and visit with family and friends.
History
About 2200 years back, it is believed that MaharjaVeesen built this temple after the birth of his son Madansen. He became the emperor of the territory of Kamavati and spread its gloriousness in the name of KamakhyaNagri. However, history tells that there was love between Maadhavnal & Kaamkandla, which led to a battle between Raja Vikramaditya and Raja Kamsen. This battle anguished the territory of Kamavati to ashes. However, after the demise of Maadhavnal & Kaamkandla, Raja Vikramaditya was engulfed with a feeling of guilt as a result of which he started praying and asking for forgiveness. MaaBagulamukhi Devi appeared before him and also granted his wish to give life to Maadhavnal&Kaamkandla. This was a miracle and hence the Raja requested her to stay in this temple and bless all the devotees. Since that time MaaBagulamukhi Devi temple which later on came to be known as MaaBamleshwari temple became a famous spot in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Importance/Significance
MaaBamleshwari temple is of great importance since it is considered as one of the Torthsthans in India. All the more, MaaBamleshwari is believed to be a sign of Goddess Durga and hence is considered very powerful. Devotees climb around 1100 stairs regularly to offer their prayers. Ropeway is also provided here which attracts many devotees from all over India. Being situated at a higher level one can see a statue of Golden Lord Buddha on the mountain just opposite to this temple. All this make the temple very vital from religious point of view.
Facts/Mythology
Perhaps this is the only temple which has a ropeway built for the devotees. One can hop into the ropeway which takes you to the exact spot where the Goddess is placed. In addition since this temple was built by Raja Veersen after the birth of their son Madansen, People visit this place to seek blessings for their children.

Various events and gatherings are organized in the premises of this temple. It serves the purpose for Mundan, marriage and shelter for Padyatri's during the Navratra period. The pious atmosphere promises an aura of sanctity.
