Description
This is an 8th-century Hindu temple. The temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is one of the oldest structures in Chennai. A puja here opens new avenues for people seeking better career prospects.
History
The temple was built in the 8th century by the Pallavas, subsequently expanded during the reign of the Cholas and later by the Vijayanagara kings in the 15th century.
Facts/Mythology
In Sanksrit, the word 'Parthasarathy' means the 'charioteer of Arjuna'. It refers to Krishna's role as a charioteer to Arjuna in the epic Mahabaratha.

The Theppam festival is one of the majorly celebrated festivals. It exhibits a portion of the richest cultural heritage aspects of Triplicane, age old culture which one could not see anywhere else in Chennai, other than Mylapore or Triplicane.
