Description
Keezhperumpallam Temple is Hindu Temple devoted to Kethu Bhagwan, one of the navagraha (nine planets). This temple is situated at Keezhperumpallam which is 64 km from Kumbakonam and 30 kms from Mayavaram. It is also well recognized as Vanagari. The major Deity is Naganathar and Soundarya Devi his consort. Kethu Bhagavan is made up of half asura's body and has a snake's head. Lord Shiva was worshipped here by Kethu to get free from his sins. Kethu Bhagavan is seen here with hands folded, devoting Naganathar.
History
The King ruling this area was a Lord Muruga follower. He was also in charge for the army connected with Rani Mangammal. He used to check out Kalahasthi frequently to praise Lord Shiva. As he grew older, he can't continue his regular journeys. Kindhearted Lord Shiva, to fulfill the hope of the devotee, granted darshan for him and stayed as Kalatheeswarar.
Importance/Significance
While Ketu lies in the awful planetary position this can lead to urinal diseases, rear bone and joint pain, issues with nails particularly in the base. There can be large amount of issues encountered on account of youngsters particularly son. This temple for Kethu Bhagawan is situated within Kizhaperumpallam around Poombukar within Nagai district, Tamil Nadu.

The festivals celebrated in the temple are Chithirai Wedding festival between April-May, Aipasi Annabishekam between October-November, Shivrathri between February-March, Margazhi Arudra Darshan between December-January; and Tirukarthikai between November-December.
