Description
The Chamundeshwari Temple is situated on the top of the Chamundi Hill 13 km away from the city of Mysore. Chamundeshwari, a form of Goddess Durga, is the presiding diety in this temple.

The Chamundeshwari Temple is considered as a Shakti Peetha and one among the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas. It is known as Krouncha Pitham as the region was known in Puranic times as Krouncha Puri
