Importance/Significance
There are many ways of performing this. A personal consultation is necessary for determining the way it must be performed for each individual.In Navagraha Homa, Kuja-Raahu sandhi shanti, Raahu- Brihaspati sandhi shanti, Shukra-Aditya Sandhi Shanti are there. When there is a transition from one 'dashe' (phase) to the next, they are performed. Sometimes, Shani Shanti, Raahu Shanti are performed in the respective 'dashe'.
Facts/Mythology
Seven Kalash(copper pots), Mango leaves, Gindi are needed for this.Commonly , Vermillion, turmeric, five kg of rice, coconuts, thirty beetel leaves, arecanut, incense sticks, traditional lanterns, cotton wicks,oil.Half a litre or one litre of Ghee is needed. About five kgs of firewood to build the Sacrificial Fire. Homa Kunda, Rangoli, coloured Rangoli to create Mandala for the pooja, Gomutra, milk, curd, darbar, plantain leaves or beetel leaves are needed for any Homa in general.
