TrivikramaPerumal Vishnu Temple is situated in the small city of Sirkazi, in the Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu. The temple forms of a part of the 108 DivyaDesams and is considered to be almost 100 years old. Lord Vishnu is the main deity of the temple who is believed to bless the devotees in getting land and property.
Importance/Significance
Significance of the temple TrivikramaPerumal Vishnu Temple is a very significant Vishnu temple. Here lord Vishnu is found in the form Tivikrama form. The idol is the main attraction. It is beautifully sculpted such that the Lord's left leg lies above his head. The right hand forms a pose which signifies that it is receiving wealth and a finger on the left hand points to the land piece. This form of Lord Vishnu is also known as Panai Thadala, Thal means earth in Tamil and Alan means ruler. This denotes the form of Vishnu as the leader of the entire earth. It is believed that the entire earth is scaled by Lord Vishnu's one leg and hence those seeking for property or prosperity of their property place some sand from their land and offer it Lord Vishnu in order to seek his blessings.
Pooja for seeking blessing to buy property
Lord Vishnu is the considered the master of the Earth and hence people pray to him in order to get his blessing to buy land or property. A Satyanarayana puja is observed on any auspicious day to achieve the results. The process for the Puja begins with praying chants to Lord Ganesha asking his blessings to curb any hurdle which comes in the puja. Forgiveness is also asked from him beforehand in case any particular ritual is not observed as per the norms. After completing the Ganesha Puja, the puja for the Navgraha's are done. This is to ensure that all the graha's stay in their proper position and bless them to achieve their desired results. Then the puja for Lorrd Vishnu in the form of Narayana is taken up. This is followed with Prasad and flowers. An important part of the entire puja is that a priest must recite the entire story to the people witnessing the puja and it is considered important to pay heed and listen to the entire story. This involves, the root of this puja, vidhi to perform it and the ultimate benefits from it. The Prasad which is offered to the lord as Bhog is made up of atta, honey, milk, curd, sugar and ghee. Five fruits are also served as a mark of panchamritam. The puja is deemed complete with havan and an arti chanting hymns in praise of the lord. One more point to keep in mind is that those performing the puja must take a bath and observe fast till the puja is complete,and Prasad should then be distributed among as many people as possible. Following this ritual one gets blessings from Lord Narayana which enables them to buy land or property with ease.
