The Modhera Surya Bhagavan Sun Temple Mehsana Gujarat was constructed during the period 1026-27 A.D. when King Bhimdev I of Patan was the ruler. It has been built to honor Surya or the Sun God. The Sun Temple can be divided into three parts: Sabha Mandap, Surya Kund as well as the Guda Mandap.

This festival is organized by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat.
