Description
The Talwara Sundari Mata Devi Temple is situated in Aravalli hills in southern Rajasthan, & Banswara lying between the ponds, rivers, and natures astounding valley. This place in Rajasthan has known to be a religious place for a long time; it is also referred to as miniature Kashi. There exist innumerable known ancient temples housing severas gods & goddesses which have gained fame cause of its sculpture, architecture, & magnificence not only in the entire region but also across India.
History
The Vagad region is a holy place. Its evidence is found at Scundpuran as 'Gupta Pradesh', in the engraving of Raja Bhoj as 'Sthali Mandal' & also in the Puranas as 'Kumarika khand & 'Vaguri Kshtra'. The River Mahi flowing across this area has been referred as 'Kalyugi Mahi Ganga' in Puranas. The Sages & Saints have described the great aesthetic of the convergence of the 3 rivers which meet at a place which is similar to the motherland region and are considered as a matter of pride & grandeur to have a holy dip in it. Among the several heritage temples in Banswara which belong to the holy area of the Mahi River, the Jagjanani Temple of Lord Tripura Sundari that is located 20 kms far from headquarters of Banswara around Talwara village is famous for its might. In the initial stages it was called by as Tartai Mata. The scenery of the temple is very tranquil, elegant, awakened & worth for sightseeing. Pilgrims, here visit each year from Rajasthan & neighborhood states like Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh for darshan of god & goddess to fulfill their wishes. This is one of the prime temples in Rajasthan.
Importance/Significance
The sanctum of the lord rests on the lion mount which is also called as the 'Bhagvati Tripura Sundari' i.e a sculpture that has eighteen arms. The mighty eight armed statue that is 5 ft. tall displays a variety of arms. The images of nine Durgas are embedded at the back of the prime shrine. At the sacred feet of the lord, is constructed a 'Shree Yantra' also known for its spiritual abilities. The lord in her three heterogeneous forms such as that of a peacock, lion, & a posture sitting on the lotus flower, that gives an appearance as 'Kumarika', a young lady, in the morning; that of a lucrative & wholly bloomed juvenile maid during the mid day, along with an adult woman during the late evening; & hence it is called 'Tripura Sundari'. Sitting before the spiritual shrine of the great beauty, the devotees get engrossed endlessly for unknown time.?The temple has a lot of other facilities including, gardens for children, and rooms for accommodation etc. This place is worth a visit.
