History
History has it that around six thousand years back, Agyastya muni bought with him some idols of Siva Kesava idols that he wanted to install. He was commuting across different worlds and he eventually came to Bholokaham. When Agastya was travelling to Kasi kshetram, he overheard akasha vani saying Narashima wished to be erected at the site where the rivers Krishna and Musi intersected. Agyastayaerected a shrine devoted to Narsimha. Over the years, there were a number of alterations and the shrine was unkempt, it was entirely enveloped w2ith ant hills and such. While the kings belonging to the Reddy dynasty, in the twelfth century, were developing their cities, they came across the idol of Narsimha and they started the construction of the shrine again and installed the idol there
Importance/Significance
The shrine is rather small, but it possesses a lot of area that is covered with beautiful trees and green plants, that encompasses it. One can view the flagpole, which is situated close to the access point and there is also a Garuda which is located close to the flag pole. As one enters they can seek the blessings of Jaya and Vijayan that are located on both sides of the access point. When one enters the artha mandapam, that is situated inside the shrine ,they can seek the blessings of swami Lakshmi Narashima. There isn't a distinct shrine for the Goddess. There is a single shrine found here. When one reaches the interior part of the shrine, he is able to view two lit lamps lit that are tied to a pole situated close to the idol.
