Description
The Arulmigu Srinivasa Perumal sanctuary is situated near astound fortress, a few km far from Tiruchy to Madurai. This temple is five-ten centuries old; the historical name for this temple is Padmachalam. This temple is located in Malaikottai Adivaram city in dindigul district, Tamilnadu. Srinivasaperumal is the famous idol of the shrine. People from a variety of spaces come to visit this sanctuary. To the front of the temple stands a Gaurudar statue and facing to the south there is a temple for vinayagar.
History
Devotees in quest of the darshan of the Lord did Yagna in the temple. A evil spirit was troubling the devotees from doing the Yagna. And in response to their Yagna god appeared and smashed the evil spirit. The devotees requested to Mahalakshmi to control the extreme anger of the god and the mother indebted her devotees. Later the temple was constructed here for god with Bhoodevi and Sridevi as his companion with the name of Srinivas. Among the three deities Lord Vishnu, the Protector god of the world took 10 different avatars. In this kaliyuga Era Lord Vishnu took another avatar as srinvasa perumal in dindugul district and provides boon to the people who come and worship him, and also protects the people of dindugul. Arulmigu Srinivasa Perumal shrine is an ancient sanctuary surrounded by huge walls. To the front of the sanctuary stands Gaurudar sculpture and to the South of Gaurudar sculpture is a shrine for vinayagar is situated.
Importance/Significance
n this temple Chakkarathazhwar had a personal shrine. The deity has all the ten manifestation of almighty Vishnu developed around. Almighty NarasimhaBehind Chakkarathazhwar, almighty Narasimha is having a ring (Chakkaram) on all of his four hands along with a serpent at his feet; this seems to be a significant part of this temple. The Dindigul Malaikottai shrine is located on the foot of the mount with gooseberry plants comprising the elegance of Mother Mahalakshmi, the Goddess of prosperity. For the elimination of the Doshas and for the elimination of barriers in marriage struggle due to the ancestors' anger and forefathers, people with the leaves of gooseberry plants used to praise the almighty, and honey. With his right arm towards the sky and along with the left hand almighty seems to be guiding the earth. At the access of the temple in a gigantic statue of Garuda is placed. The almighty is taken to the river Kudaganur on the Chitra Poornima day (April-May). It is regarded that girls get a pleasant partner, and the women becoming a participant of the pooja will always be Suvasinies, with the commitment of getting almighty as her partner. On the 30 day of this era a lantern Pooja is carried on. All the ten manifestation of lord Vishnu is present in the idol of Chakkarathazhwar.
Festivals/Events/Gatherings
The devotees from all over country come the visit this sanctuary. At Chitra Purnima in the english months of April-May. The devotees return to wish for the development of their memory power of the children and their progress in studies and accordingly for the removal of hurdles in wedding alliances by conducting a wedding festival and offering Mangal Sutra to Goddess. Poojas are carried on with the leaves of gooseberry for medication from hardships caused by ancestors' anger.
