History
History reveals that long ago there was a saint called Kamala. He was a pure devotee of Goddess Durga. Once, he was unable to take the pilgrimage to JwaliJi and hence started doing meditation and tapasya in order to get darshan of the powerful Goddess Durga. The Goddess was very much pleased with his devotion and hence granted him the wish that she would visit him and give darshan twice a year. Hence, the practice of offering two grand meals on the eighth day of Navartra is observed. The place where the Goddess gave darshan to Kamala is the same spot where the temple of MaiserKhanaJwalajiDurga Devi Temple has been built. However, it was found in very damaged form by the archaeologists. The temple that we see today was actually renovated and rebuilt by funds collected which was initiated by a group of three individuals names RadheshamBudhlada, HansrajAggarwal and Jagannath.
Importance/Significance
MaaDurga is considered destroyer of all evil and hence, the MaiserKhanaJwalajiDurga Devi Temple is considered very sacred and pious. It is believed that the Maa gives darshan to its devotees on two special days in the year. All wishes are granted during these days and hence it holds religious importance. All the more, worshipping her before taking up any task is considered very sacred (in order to destroy all the forthcoming evils).

This is done in accordance with the legends and attracts throngs of devotees each year. MaiserKhanaJwalajiDurga Devi Temple located at a distance of 29 kilometers from Bhatinda, in the state of Punjab. This lies on the Bhatinda- Mansa highway and is well connected by roads.
