History
Everyone knows about the history surrounding the Kumarasamypettai Siva SubramanyaSwamyMurugan Temple. This temple was initially not so famous but about 100 years ago there an incident that happened in this temple. One thief entered the temple and tried to steal the ornaments of lord Siva SubramanyaSwamyMurugan. But as soon as the thief touched the idol of lord Siva SubramanyaSwamyMurugan, the thief loist his vision. After the loss of vision the thief cried due to pain and the people around the temple reached the temple to find out what was going on. The people got to know what had actually happened from the thief himself. The people who had gathered there, left the thief without punishing him as the thief had already been punished for whatever he had done. Only after this incident, people were acquainted with the power of lord Siva SubramanyaSwamyMurugan, and news about the same started circulating across all parts of the country. One is always able to witness a crowd of people that flock the temple, whenever one visits it.
Importance/Significance
This temple which was started with just one small shrine of Lord Siva SubramanyaSwamyMurugan has now been renovated and grown pretty big in size. It is believed that people who are facing problems related to properties like house or land should offer prayers to Lord Siva SubramanyaSwamyMurugan. Facts/Mythology
This temple was constructed by the people belonging to the Sengunthar community. The temple is still being managed by the people of Sengunthar community. That is one of the reasons why this place is called as SenguntharThottam. In order to get their wishes fulfilled the devotees of this temple offer salt and pepper. And also on Tuesdays or Friday, the poor are fed in huge numbers. Also contributions are made to the planet Mars, in the form of red vastras. Problems in families like quarrels between brother and girl, or boys who are facing problems in finding themselves suitable brides should visit this temple on Tuesdays and Fridays and offer prayers.

Almost all the Hindu festivals are celebrated at this temple splendidly. In the months of March-April,PanguniUthiram is celebrated, in the month April Tamil New Year is celebrated luxuriously. Tirukarthikai, Krthika star days of February, August's Aadi festival are celebrated at this temple by means of special poojas and abhishekams. Offering annadhanam to the underprivileged and moreoverdonating clothes to the deprivedcommunity is said to be very auspicious at this temple.
